As a Research Assistant at FIU's Cold Spray and Rapid Deposition Lab, I conduct advanced metallographic analysis and characterization of cutting-edge manufacturing processes. This research focuses on Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) and Friction Stir Additive Manufacturing (FSAM) technologies.
The project involves developing and implementing metallographic procedures to analyze microstructures, grain boundaries, and material properties of additively manufactured components. This work contributes to understanding and optimizing these advanced manufacturing techniques for industrial applications.
This research contributes to the advancement of additive manufacturing technologies by providing critical insights into material behavior and microstructural evolution during processing. The findings help optimize process parameters and improve the quality and reliability of additively manufactured components for aerospace, automotive, and other industrial applications.
